Foundations

By Lynn Heatley. This past year, we have looked and prayed about FOUNDATIONS.  All types of foundations.  In our family histories, in the history of the city and our nation, in our spiritual understanding.  And as we have looked around us, we have come to understand that the Lord is doing a new work in this area.

The Wonder of Community

By Lynn Heatley. On Sunday, we hosted a group of friends at TLH who came together to pray for me and speak words of counsel for the ongoing flow of my life. What a beautiful thing to experience and behold. It never ceases to amaze me what kindness looks like when a group of people, who love well, get together and simply share their hearts.

Stepping Out – Blessed to be a blessing!

By Lynn Heatley. These words came to us as our next place of direction for us at The Lord’s House at the beginning of this year.  In all the ways that 2011 was more a call to solitude and community, now, the encouragement is to step out into the city and see what God is up to.  I love the principle that Henry Blackaby writes about in his book “Experiencing God” …to discover where God is already working and join Him there!  What a great idea!  We know that God is at work in the city of Riverside and we want to be about our Father’s business in blessing what He is already doing and to connect with those who are doing it!  We are beginning to do informal roundtables to gather leaders together and inquire what they see God doing in their areas of expertise.  We are starting with the area of Healthcare as we sense that this is deeply on God’s heart and is also such a felt need for the residents of any city.  We will keep you posted on what we discover as we connect with others.  May the Lord bless you as you join Him in what He is doing in your city! – Lynn

Celebrating One Year Today!

Today, a group of us met and rejoiced and thanked God for being so faithful to us in this past year of starting this journey.  What a joy to see vision beginning to be fulfilled.  Today, I opened up the book of remembrance and recounted the many ways that the Lord has led us over the past 12 years and then bringing the vision forth exactly one year ago today.  The One who gives us dreams is also the one who empowers us to fulfill them.  Thank you Lord for your faithfulness.  Lead and guide us in the days ahead!

Living Out a Grateful Life

By Lynn Heatley. I have been pondering the work of sanctification in our lives (sanctification is a big word that basically means the work/ongoing process of the Holy Spirit in our lives that brings our whole nature into being more and more like Jesus). As I have pondered this, I have thought of how so many seemed to have gotten stuck in this whole life process in their understanding and consequently, in their lives. And the “getting stuck” seems to be centered on two words: Receiving vs Earning.

A More Excellent Way – How Love Reconciles All Things

By Lynn Heatley.  In this section, I would like to speak on the nature and overflow of the love of God and how it is an essential aspect in the ministry of reconciliation. In the twelfth chapter of the first book of Corinthians, Paul speaks of the value of spiritual gifts and how all the gifts are needed to have a wholeness that reflects the nature of Christ.  He then transitions into the next chapter by calling his readers to a higher place; a place of understanding of how love is more important than any particular gift.  He summons us to come up higher to a broader place of understanding and lifestyle:  “And now I will show you the most excellent way”.  We will benefit greatly as we follow the Lord in this call to a more excellent way.

The Bridge Tribe

by Lynn Heatley.  Intro:  I was in an email conversation a few months back with someone from the ReconciliationSchool (www.gracebridge.org). We talked quite a bit about the nature of one who identifies themselves with what I have come to term as the “bridge tribe”. I actually got that understanding through a time of prayer with the Lord. Fawn has encouraged me to expand a bit more on what I have shared, so here it is. I hope that it encourages you and perhaps gives you a bit more understanding.

A Call to the Net: Divine Seasons of Networking

by Lynn Heatley.  Have you ever had those times of revelation where you felt like a “lightbulb” went on in the interior of your soul?  Sometimes, the Lord leads me on treasure hunts, except usually, I do not understand that I am on one until all the clues suddenly appear together and then they say something dramatic.  So my story begins.

Identity and Finding Our Customized Shoes

By Lynn Heatley. A scene from Cinderella has been emerging in my spirit lately.  It is the famous scene where the king’s primary servant is taking the famous “glass slipper” that had fallen off Cinderella’s foot (in her fast escape) to all the maidens of the land to see which foot the slipper fits into thus revealing who the true owner of the shoe belongs to.
