by Lynn Heatley Last Wednesday, I had the wonderful opportunity to share at the Tustin Chamber of Commerce about Covered California. This has been an area that I have been able to go “out and about” in cities and share about various health care options. As an RN, I know the importance of having health insurance. I know that fifty percent of all those that have to file bankruptcy do so because they have encountered an unforeseen medical emergency. And because of this, it is important to have health insurance, for the known and unknown needs that arise. It says of Jesus, in Acts 10, that “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good“… Later, in Acts 9, it talks about a follower of Jesus, named Tabitha, who “was always doing good and helping the poor”. Presently, we all have gifts, sills and knowledge that we can give back to communities and share with those around us. Part of my skills happen to be healthcare and resourcing people with education and options. What are some gifts that God might be nudging you to begin to give away for the greater good in your community? It was an honor to be with the wonderful civic and business leaders in Tustin and hear of how they are “doing good” in their community. May we all be encouraged as we take courageous steps and become generous in giving away our time, talent and treasures. Have a great Thanksgiving!
